I have seen the best of the best play and I have fought a few of them. Playing as him, he seems so-so, but when facing him in Arcade mode, he is brutal, and extremely cheap. The Apprentice is just ridiculous in my opinion. However, his short height also works to his advantage, as most upper. He has some very powerful throws, but they are slow due to him having to jump up to use them. I haven't played much with Hilde yet, so I can't really give my opinion, but I hear she is good as a counter character. My only problem with her is she is slow in comparison to other counter characters like Sophitia or Xianghua. Setsuka should at least be placed in the middle or upper tier, as she is extremely good as a counter character. Also, her style is really easy to get the hang of. Xianghua is another extremely useful counter character, as she is fast and has a lot of quick counter moves that can be used to put distance between you and the opponent. A large variety of moves, the ability to fight wide/long-range(whip state) or short/close-range(sword state) and lots of T&A Ivy as well should be bumped up to at least top tier, as she has been reverted to her awesome SC II style(She was awful in SCIII, with many of her better moves being changed or removed) Again, she is one of those characters who is difficult to master, but well worth the effort. She's the only one I can actually stand against on the hardest difficulty. Working with them properly is difficult, but pays off quite well. Every single move of hers has a chance to switch stances, some guaranteed, some low chance. Unlike every other character, who has their single fighting style, Tira has two movesets: those for when she is in her giddy, playful nature(Jovial Stance), and then those for when she is in her dark, sadistic nature(loomy Stance). Tira, on the other hand, is extremely difficult to master. Plus, she has the "stick opponent's head between her legs" moves, as well as attacks with her butt. Sophitia has a lot of seriously damaging moves that are best used as a counter, and quite a few of them can be chained together. Tira and Sophitia should be bumped up to top tier, as they are both extremely difficult to beat if used correctly. Rock vs Taki: 57-43 - Rock has the advantage. Rock vs Ivy: 45-55 - Ivy has the advantage. Rock vs Sophitia: 30-70 Sophitia has the advantage. Rock vs Tira: 25-75 - Tira has the advantage. Rock vs Lizardman: 15-85 - Lizardman has the advantage. Rock vs Seong Mi-Na: 23-77 - Seong Mi-Na has the advantage. Rock vs Raphael: 30-70 - Raphael has the advantage. Rock vs Yoshimitsu: 25-75 - Yoshimitsu has the advantage. Rock vs Cassandra: 30-70 - Cassandra has the advantage. Rock vs Xianghua: 40-60 - Xianghua has the advantage. Rock vs Yoda: 20-80 - Yoda has the advantage.
